About the Event

So after all this isolation, we are now able to release the Zig Zag Spring Challenge,

its a six hour event, run as far as you can during the six hours, it may be 5k, 10k, half, full or ultra,

the location is absolutley stunning, Forty Hall is a Grade 1 Listed Jacobean Manor House, nestled in leafy Enfield and set amidst an idyllic landscape.

Forty Hall & Estate is one of England's finest historic houses set in its own Estate. The 273 acre Grade II listed estate is a rare example of an intact 18th Century Landscape, with an Ornamental lake, medieval fishing ponds and streams, a walled garden, Pleasure grounds, Georgian and Victorian flora and fauna, lakes, lawns, and meadows. Forty Hall Estate is even home to one of the oldest Cedar of Lebanon trees in England.

What better place to explore, ? the course will take around the gardens and thorugh the historic woodland and trails, the loop is 5k so you can do as much or little as you want to, rest between laps and take in the music and fun at the aid station.

We will have our aid station at the start where you can leave you bags and and extra kit you want to bring,

The terain will have hills, undulated woodland and flat, its a real running event, not just on a flat road

This event is ideal for...

Those who want a fun family atmoshpere and motivation to push themsleves to better their time or disance

FAQ's

What do I get?  You will receive  1) A really special finishers medal, custom made and designed, not a generic one.  2) A well stocked base camp with plenty of nibbles and refreshments for during and post race replenishment,

Where is the event?

https://www.fortyhallestate.co.uk

When do I get my race number?  You'll pick this up on race day morning from the race HQ on the morning, please get there at 9:00 latest so we can ensure everyone has their numbers.

Are there time limits?  Yes, a strict 6 hour time limit. You must at least be heading out on your last lap at the latest 5:59.59

Do you have secure baggage facilities  No. But you're free to leave bags at the start/finish. There will always be someone around but we can't guarantee their security, in the event of rain we can't guarantee things won't get wet. You will be able to park close to the start/finish don't forget.

Can I leave my own drinks/food at the aid station? Yes no problem at all, we will have a dedicated table for runners own supplies.

Trail shoes? Road Shoes?  I'd suggest Trail shoes if you have them but normal trainers will be fine

Is the course closed to the public?  No. Forty Hall Park is a public House & Park, its part of a network of local footpaths, cycle paths and trails and is shared with ramblers, dogwalkers, horseriders and cyclists. Runners do not have the right of way and need to be considerate of other users of the land. Please don't litter, we suggest bring reusable cuips as we will be a cupless event, we'll have a bin at the base camp and another on the far side of the course so please deposit any rubbish in these..

What on course facilities do you provide? Water, squash, nibbles, goodies, starter, timekeeper, marshals music, dad dancing and encouragement every lap! The HQ/Aid station will be well stocked for all runners.
