Please arrive before 8:30am to ensure we can get you ready for the race start.
Please look out for our sign – the sat nav may take you to a little house and a country lane!
What will happen when you arrive:
When you get to the Horseheath Racecourse you will be approached by a person with a Clipboard, I know that sounds very Officious, but we must ensure you are you. You will then be directed to park. Once parked, please head towards base camp and race registration to collect your race bib and safety pins (if required). Please arrange to arrive at the start area for 8:40am at the latest ready for the race brief at 8:50am. Please use this time to get ready for the run, making sure you have your kit on, race number pinned to you, clearly visible, and if you want to stretch, chant, jump and down, dance or even sing etc then this is the time to get that done.
Start Times:
We want to start sending people out from 9:00am prompt, so we expect you all to be ready to run from 9:00am latest. This will be a mass start. The Start Line There is a start Arch which you will line up behind. If you are quicker, we suggest you head to the front. This will be a mass start.
The Course:
The race starts at 9:00am. On this occasion we will be running the course in the clockwise direction, turning left when leaving the start. The loop is 5.3k. On arrival back to the start of the lap you will go past the front of Race HQ and continue to the turn point before heading back out. At Race HQ there will be an aid station with water, squash and nibbles. Please ensure you keep out of the path of any runners who are not stopping but continuing on to their next lap. Whilst out on course, we would ask that you run to the left-hand side of the path that you are on, giving any faster runners the opportunity to overtake on your right-hand side. Please also make sure that consideration is given to any members of the public found along the public footpath. Warm Up area (field opposite the basecamp) In the warmup area there is plenty of space for you to be able to warm up and keep socially distanced. At 8:50am you will be called to the start line.
Toilets:
We will have Male and Female toilets at the aid station/Race HQ.
Water/Aid Station At basecamp we will have water, squash and a selection of nibbles.
***please note our events have now gone cupless so you will need to bring your own cup or bottle to refill each lap***
You may leave your own items but you should ensure these are labelled.
Refuse:
We will have some refuse sacks dotted around the course. Our marshals will have a refuse bag with them, so we ask that you do not throw any rubbish but give it to the next marshal you see or keep hold of it until you reach one of the bags or directional signs on the route.
Baggage
We will be based out of a big barn so there will be space for you to leave your baggage whilst you are out on the course. All items are left at your own risk.
The Medals
The medals will be ready and waiting for when you have finished. They will be at the aid station/Race HQ.
Lucky Dip upgrade option
If there are medals still available on RACE DAY, you can ask to upgrade then too but this is subject to availability. This upgrade will cost £5. LUCKY DIP/FINISHER medals are medals from previous events and not bespoke to the day.

As this is a challenge event, there is the option to exceed or drop down the anticipated distance. You, however, will need to let us know if this is the case (on the day). **please ensure you have told us that you intend to continue if this differs/or that you are deciding to finish** You will be allowed to go out on the last lap as long as it has not exceeded 5:59:59 since you were set off.
