The Great Barrow Challenge - We are celebrating the 10th Year of the Great Barrow Challenge.
So this year the 10 Events in 10 days is back and better than ever! After the success of 2023 we are looking to be bigger and better than ever before, with what we feel is the most unique ten in ten.
With participants already coming from all over the world in 2023, we are expecting to have a similar line up,
A Ten in Ten with Ten different marathon Routes, Ten individual routes around the beautiful Suffolk Countryside
Starting on July 26th 2024 we're offering 10 days of incredible running adventures across various distances. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, this is the perfect opportunity to push your limits and achieve something truly remarkable!
With Individual entry spaces available for each day, you can tailor your experience to your own personal goals. you can choose the days and distances that suit you best, or push yourself to the limit and sign up for every day to tackle ultra-marathon distances with grit and determination.
Our ten-day event is the ultimate test of mental and physical endurance. Whether you're a serious competitor or just in it for the fun, The Great Barrow Challenge promises an unforgettable experience. With time to appreciate the beautiful countryside, meet new people with a shared passion, and push your limits like never before, we guarantee that you'll leave feeling exhilarated, accomplished, and proud of your achievement.

Its 10 days of opportunity to challenge yourself! Whether it be 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Full Marathon or Ultra Marathon.
Your race, your pace, your distance! Over the 10 days there will be different routes: *
Each day will have a 5k & 10k turn around point.
On the days with the 10k route out and back, it will be 2 laps for a half marathon and 4 laps for a marathon, an ultra will be 4 laps and then an out and back to the 5k point
On the days with a half marathon loop, it would be one lap for a half and two for a marathon. an ultra marathon will be two laps and then an out and back to the 5k point
On the days of the Full marathon Loop, it will be one loop for the marathon, the Full Marathon Distance days also have a Full Half Marathon Loop/Lap as well, the ultra will have an extra out and back option
The chosen routes are as follows
Day 1- Friday - Windmill Way (Half Marathon Route)
Day 2 - Saturday - The Clover (Full marathon) route (Half Clover for the Half)
Day 3 - Sunday - The Gallops (Full Marathon) Route (Half Marathon has a Turn around point.)
Day 4 - Monday - Dalham kiln (Half marathon route)
Day 5 - Tuesday - Denham Flats (10.6k out and back route)
Day 6 - Wednesday - The Goldings Hills (10.6k out and back route)
Day 7 - Thursday - chevington chase (Half Marathon) Route
Day 8 - Friday - The Clover (Half marathon) route
Day 9 - Saturday - Kirtling (official measured marathon) route (Half Marathon route option is Windmill Way)
Day 10 - Sunday - Back Quack (10.6k loop) route
Parking is also included in your entry price. The Race HQ/Base Camp is located at the start and Lap point and at the base camp we will have our water/aid station.
Upon entry you will receive an email confirmation from your entry portal and Zig Zag Running. This will also contain the link to the race briefing information pack. We have designed Bespoke medals for the event, which you will receive at the end of the race each day and a T-shirt on completion of all 10 days.
Please note the event has gone cupless - so please bring your own bottles or cups for refilling. * please note routes could be subject to change
PAYMENT PLAN OPTION AVAILABLE: There is an option to pay £100 non-refundable deposit. On receipt of your entry - we will contact you for further information associated to the race. Full and Final payment will be required on or before the 15th July 2024
