š Great Barrow Challenge 2026 ā Day 8 Recap
š Suffolk Running Centre, Bury St Edmunds Ā· 10.5k lap
Day 8 of 10 done ā and another hot one! āļø The sun kept coming and so did the runners: 55 out today, a bigger turnout than the last couple of days, from 5k all the way up to a marathon-plus-20k.
š New course records: Shout out to the new course record holders for the 5k and 10k and well done to Alex Marshall on her Ultra + 20k. Back on the board and still flying after eight days on the trot. š
š Distance covered today: ~1,701km (~1,057 miles).
š Running total after 8 days:
ā¢ Days 1ā7: 13,478km
ā¢ Day 8: 1,701km
ā¢ Combined: ~15,179km (~9,432 miles)
š¬š§ Milestone alert: they're now 85% of the way round Britain's coastline ā almost home! And 38% of the way around the planet. Just 2 days to go and that full lap of Britain is within touching distance. š
š° Medals and cake all round ā and lots of water in the heat. Everyone's a winner.
